Here are 5 tips for a great experience!
So, you’re thinking about scheduling your first session with a Catholic mindset coach—how exciting!
Whether you’re feeling eager, a little nervous, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here! Know that this is an exciting step toward growth, clarity, and discerning God’s plan for your life, and I am SO excited to walk with you on your journey!
To help you get the most out of your coaching experience, here are five tips to prepare for your first meeting.
1. Bring an Open Heart and Mind
My job is to be a “coach,” similar to a literal stagecoach: my goal is to take you from where you are to where you want to be.
We’ll be listening to how God is already active in your life, and looking for ways you can practically and concretely change your mindset, emotions, and actions to be more aligned with his plan.
Trust that the Holy Spirit is present in this process!
2. Pray Beforehand
Spend a few moments in prayer before your session, asking the Holy Spirit (and maybe some of your favorite saints, too!) for guidance and accompaniment.
Acknowledging that God is present in this space and process will help you approach the session with peace and clarity.
3. Reflect on Your Intentions and Goals
What are you hoping to gain from this coaching journey?
For example, are you…
— seeking clarity on a particular decision?
— trying to grow in a particular virtue?
— working against a sticky belief that you know isn’t from God, but feels so true?
You don’t need to have all the answers (we’ll look for them together!), but having a general topic in mind will make your session more fruitful.

4. Be Honest and Transparent
I’m here to walk with you, not judge you!
The more honest you are about your struggles, dreams, and doubts, the more I can support you effectively. Authenticity and vulnerability allow for real transformation, so don’t be afraid to share what’s on your heart.
Keep an eye out for those tricky “beliefs-about-beliefs,” such as…
— “I shouldn’t be feeling this way”
— “I should be over this by now”
— “I know (in my head) this is true, even if my heart feels a different way…”
5. Trust the Process and Stay Open to Grace
Mindset shifts and spiritual growth take time. Beliefs are like a Jenga tower made up of lots of blocks: knocking out one lie of the Enemy at a time will weaken his foundation until the whole wall comes tumbling down.
Be patient with yourself and trust that God is working in you, even if you don’t feel a complete and immediate transformation. Coaching is a journey, and each step—big or small—moves you closer to becoming the person God created you to be.
Ready? Let’s go!
If you’re still struggling with excuses in your mind (“I just don’t have time, I need to do more work by myself first, my problems are too little (or too big!) for coaching, I don’t know what to talk about”), consider this…
…who would want you to keep thinking that thought, God or the Enemy?

May God bless your journey as you step forward in faith.
